Today's mail was a bit like Christmas! (see the photos)
When I first started couponing I can honestly say that the idea of signing up for samples wasn't entirely appealing. It seemed to me that it was far too much work. Each company seemed to want so much information. What could they possibly offer me besides a little bag of something I had not needed before now?
But then one day, I sent away for a sample. Weeks later, (long after I had forgotten my request) I opened my mailbox and pulled out a little box addressed to me!
Oddly, I felt a bit of excitement as I rushed inside the house to tear open the box. The box held a sample of a cereal that I had never tried before along with several coupons for the same product.
While I didn't exactly feel that the cereal was great - I suddenly felt an understanding for what the deal is with samples! Here is what I learned.
1) Companies want your business. So they are willing to intrigue you!
2) They'll send you a sample, so you can try the product without even buying it yet. (Free trial run so to speak!) Have you ever been in a store, looking at a new product on the shelf thinking "I'd like to try it but its just too expensive - I mean what if I hate it?" Well companies are willing to give you that opportunity without you spending a dime.
3) They'll send you coupons! Yes...the snail mail version. And they'll often repeat coupon mailings and send you products or coupons in the future as well.
4) You can look forward to going to the mailbox! Your mailbox is not just for bills my friends. I've received packages you wouldn't even believe. Like a HUGE box from Amy's Kitchen that arrived with 6 of their canned soups, a darling ceramic soup cup, magnets, a journal, pen and coupons in mass quantity! You read that right.
Today's mailbox samples include a little triangle shaped box with a Kashi TLC Dark Chocolate Coconut bar. My husband pounced on it...and I felt so happy to give it to him - I want him to feel a bit like it is Christmas too! They included a $1.00 off coupon.
The second item was a sample bag of Purina Beneful IncrediBites sent out by Wal-Mart. They also included a coupon for $2.00 off! The dog, our little guy Pete, got a bowl full of fun...and admittedly, a bit of Christmas even for his furry self.
This my friends, happens frequently around our house. And gives our family little moments to look forward to in our mailbox. It's fun! It's free. It's worth a few minutes of your time...go sign up!
To get you started in the right direction, try signing up with VocalPoint. They send out frequent mailings that include samples and coupons. Right now they are offering up a sample of Pantene, you get to choose from four types. Click Here to get started and well...Merry Christmas...again and again!
